Statistics wise, it was an even game, but mistakes hurt Amherst on Friday night as Brennan Laird and Olmsted Falls defeated the Comets 28-21. Laird threw for 309 yards - including a 62-yard touchdown pass to Eric Meehan - and later led the Bulldogs on an eight-play, 48-yard go-ahead drive to improve to 6-2 overall and 5-0 in the Southwestern Conference. Laird's counterpart Eric Lamb was just as impressive, however, completing 66 percent of his passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns.
